Paper crafting and then some!
As I started this journey of putting my creations, craft, and artistry out into this big world, I did a fair share of research. I was looking for a way to be different but more importantly, I wanted to find a way that reflected me, my style, my teaching method, my creativity. I figured after what I saw, articles I read, and videos watched, it might be best to start at the beginning!
If you ask Google what is paper crafting, the answer is pretty simple: Paper crafting is a versatile, creative hobby using paper or cardstock as the primary medium to create 2D or 3D objects through folding, cutting, gluing, or layering. While the world may look like it is more digital than ever, there are still artisans and recipients in the world like me who enjoy getting happy mail or gifting photos to mark simple or special events. I think most can remember prior generations with large photo albums that marked very special occasions or if lucky, a simple day, too. So, where does that leave a paper crafter like me?
My mission! I love paper crafting (it’s almost an understatement) and rescuing photos or recipes from a digital world. While the world may be fast forward at times, our photos, our food, and our stories matter. I want to show people that everyone has the ability to create keepsakes or learn a way to enhance what they already know. It’s the process and energy we put into our projects that the recipient receives, more than the paper itself. In this process, a photo or a recipe will live outside of its original location!
So here we go!! In the days, weeks, and months to follow, I will be sharing knowledge, tips and tricks, projects, and maybe a little inspiration for you to join in on a paper crafting adventure!
Until next time, be creative!
